Tuesday Tea Tasting I first tried T2 a few years ago when an Aussie mate brought a box over for me. Happily it's now available for in the UK so you can try some yourself without flying 24hours down under for a good cuppa. T2's style is bright and bold and recently they teamed up with design duo Raw Edges to create a set of limited edition packaging for London Design Festival 2016. Each hand-drawn design reflects the colour, texture and patterns in the loose-leaf (all so pretty), reflecting the...
With only 48 hours in Amsterdam, here are a couple of places I stopped for a cuppa - and a couple of places I wish I'd had time to pause in.
This week it was teapigs' 9th Birthday and to celebrate they gave out free tea on the 4th Nov in the UK and around the world...even Hawaii (that's a hot cuppa!) And everyone has to have a birthday party right? So in the afternoon I was invited to join the teapigs crew on their London bus tour. A Routemaster bus, decorated in style, took us passed iconic landmarks with the wonderful Russell as our ever-informative guide. As we made our way, we were treated to a hot cup of Earl Grey Strong, Apple...

Tuesday Tea Tasting: I saw the new Bond film Spectre at a preview screening last week (lucky me!) - don't worry, no spoilers - but I will mention the one mug of steaming hot tea that was featured. It was Q's, so I'm presuming it was Earl Grey (see Skyfall video clip above for evidence!) and so in recognition of Ian Fleming's clever tea-lover, today I'm tasting Piacha's Earl Grey Vanilla. (It seems Q also owns a Wild & Wolf Scrabble mug - in Skyfall.) It's a dark brew, quite a strong Ceylon...
A quiet escape from the super busy Brick Lane, I joined my friend (who is just as mad about tea) for a lovely cuppa in Pretty Cuppa. Obviously I was caught by the name, and drawn inside by the teapots and teacups. While my friend sipped an Earl Grey, I tried Pukka's Vanilla Chai - it's caffeine free and has a delicate, sweet flavour. I normally add milk to chai but it was so light I decided not to. Described as ‘a fairly-traded magic carpet of sweet organic vanilla tingling with cinnamon and...
Oh my do I love an afternoon tea! So what better excuse to head to 108 Pantry at Marylebone Hotel than it being National Afternoon Tea Week! afternontea.co.uk offer great discounts on lots of fabby locations so I booked through them and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious scones, pastries, sandwiches and cakes. But the highlight was the tea....topped up as much as I wanted (hooray!) and so I tried a few brews from the Rare Tea Company, including their Assam (with milk to make it a proper English...
If you want to step back in time then head to Blackbird Tea Rooms in Brighton and sip a cuppa while an antique radio plays you some tea dance tunes and the bell on the door tinkles with the constant stream of afternoon tea lovers. My sister and I enjoyed a Darjeeling and Earl Grey, and while I was busy checking out the decor of retro tea posters, tea tins and photos of Brighton in the old days, my sister devoured our apparently delicious carrot cake.
