Hillman's Tearoom, Walthamstow: Ever been to a vintage wonderland? Neither had I. But that is just what Hillman's Tearoom is - with a whole load of good tea poured on top . . .
On Hoe Street in Walthamstow, and filled with a pink glow, is Aura Rosa, a cafe & patisserie that draws you in with the sweet smell of baking. They are currently sorting their tea offering, and I shall definitely be returning soon to taste their range of Jenier Teas as the Golden Monkey and Chantilly Cream Chaicha sound delish. So I was one week too early for a good cuppa there, but when your standard English Breakfast cuppa is served with a melt-in-your-mouth macaroon, you can't complain!
I am a massive fan of the gorgeous prints of William Morris and what makes the gallery in Walthamstow even better is the light and bright tea room with luscious views of Lloyd Park. They offer a wide range of hand-blended teas, including a specially-made ‘William Morris' blend inspired by his life and work and by his love of flowers & fruit. I'm not quite sure how I made such a mess but I like to think it was because I was so inspired by the wonderful patterns!
