It must be Christmas when afternoon teas start to include mince pies and chestnut and brandy macarons! Pont St's also includes Christmas trifle and gingerbread Pramma girls, inspired by their Christmas window collaboration (see below). I was at the restaurant at Belgraves Hotel to enjoy some tea ceremonies with Jing Tea whose teas compliment the delicious menu. I've raved about their tea before - and my tune hasn't changed! Where do I start with this blog post?! So much to talk about after a brilliant session at The Four Seasons after being invited to the Jing Tea Master launch.
Those who know me will know how much I love this place. It is my first love when it comes to tea rooms due to many lovely memories there, cosy inside on wintery days or sitting in the sunshine in the summer. It has no website, no twitter, no instagram, it remains a vintage classic place for a lovely cuppa and a cream tea. Oh my do I love an afternoon tea! So what better excuse to head to 108 Pantry at Marylebone Hotel than it being National Afternoon Tea Week! afternontea.co.uk offer great discounts on lots of fabby locations so I booked through them and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious scones, pastries, sandwiches and cakes. But the highlight was the tea....topped up as much as I wanted (hooray!) and so I tried a few brews from the Rare Tea Company, including their Assam (with milk to make it a proper English...
The Courtyard is run by the friendliest duo. Their cream tea was delicious, especially the cranberry and orange scone which made a lovely alternative to the usual scone options. The tea list is enormous, with blends from Tip Top Teas and Blendings. I decided to test out their House Blend, a high grown Kenyan estate tea, which was the perfect classic cuppa for my afternoon treat in their tranquil little courtyard.
