Tuesday Tea Tasting Tea Studio is a fusion of passions: tea and art. What that means you get is a tasty tea represented by an original artwork, which reflects elements of the tea itself. So my Studio Chai had a lovely swirly painting on the packaging - with colours that indicated the spices and assam contained within. I first tasted chai in India - and so I like it sweet and milky like it's served on Delhi's streets. So Tea Studio's recommendation of adding honey went down well with me and the...
It must be Christmas when afternoon teas start to include mince pies and chestnut and brandy macarons! Pont St's also includes Christmas trifle and gingerbread Pramma girls, inspired by their Christmas window collaboration (see below). I was at the restaurant at Belgraves Hotel to enjoy some tea ceremonies with Jing Tea whose teas compliment the delicious menu. I've raved about their tea before - and my tune hasn't changed! Their Golden Gong Fu is caramely and their chai spicy and warming - but...
This week it was teapigs' 9th Birthday and to celebrate they gave out free tea on the 4th Nov in the UK and around the world...even Hawaii (that's a hot cuppa!) And everyone has to have a birthday party right? So in the afternoon I was invited to join the teapigs crew on their London bus tour. A Routemaster bus, decorated in style, took us passed iconic landmarks with the wonderful Russell as our ever-informative guide. As we made our way, we were treated to a hot cup of Earl Grey Strong, Apple...
Tuesday Tea Tasting After a brisk walk through the park, kicking up freshly fallen Autumn leaves, it was nice to come out of the cold and hug a cup of Jing Chai. Its a warming, spicy, colourful cuppa which matched the changing landscape out my window. Also, check out my new Tea Infuser Mug! Looks fab (as does the tea brewing in it), and cleverly designed for when you want to infuse your tea but don't want to faff about with a teapot and strainer. My tip: leave the used leaves sitting around...
A quiet escape from the super busy Brick Lane, I joined my friend (who is just as mad about tea) for a lovely cuppa in Pretty Cuppa. Obviously I was caught by the name, and drawn inside by the teapots and teacups. While my friend sipped an Earl Grey, I tried Pukka's Vanilla Chai - it's caffeine free and has a delicate, sweet flavour. I normally add milk to chai but it was so light I decided not to. Described as ‘a fairly-traded magic carpet of sweet organic vanilla tingling with cinnamon and...
I did a little latte experimenting today. I brewed Bluebird Tea Co's delicious Coco Chai with enough water to cover the bag, for 4 minutes. Then used a Bialetti milk frother (don't tell my boyfriend - he's territorial when it comes to his coffee equipment), added the bubbly milk and sprinkled a little cocoa powder on top. Wow, it was tasty...if I do say so myself! The coconutty flavour and spices of the chai work really well with the creamy milk - a little bit of the exotic on a rainy day in...
Finsbury Park in London is certainly changing. When I lived there in 2007 I would never have thought a lovely theatre would open up in the area. But the Park Theatre has, and with it a popular cafe/bar that gets so super busy before a show that I ended up sitting at the piano with my Teapigs Chai. I normally add milk to chai (India holiday nostalgia) but it wasn't offered to me so I gave it a go without and it was still delish. Think it says something about the tea when the barman says ‘wow...
