Tuesday Tea Tasting Have you been to any of the factory outlets in Hackney? For cheap Burberry, Pringle or Nike, fashion lovers can head to Hackney Walk for amazing bargains...and we all know shopping is thirsty work! So for a pause in your perusing, head to Brew For Two - a cute little yellow-fronted tearoom tucked among the famous stores. It's full of lovely tiled tables and vintage crockery, perfect for all the bargain-hunting tourists looking for a classic British tea sipping experience.
The Hackney Pearl is the closest cafe to my home so apologies in advance if they appear on here more than once. Lucky for me they serve delicious Jing tea and have an amazing range of table tops for me to photograph on! Calling themselves ‘a happy, cosy local' they truly are and whilst inside is full of retro furniture (and people on macbooks) they also have a great outdoor space for when the sun is shining. The Jing Assam tasted ‘toasty' and slightly malty but a comforting brew.
I am lucky that near to the Post Office where I deliver my coaster orders is a lovely, homely cafe - Amandine. Amongst the bunting and retro furniture they serve Teapigs and today I had a well-needed, strongly-steeped Everyday Brew with a little sugar hit and naughty muffin on the side...sometimes you just need that extra kick!
