Last weekend, myself and many other designer makers were invited to Liberty's British Open Call. A chance to show the Liberty buyers your products and get their valuable advice. It was interesting and eye opening but ultimately cold! After a ridiculously warm winter, England suddenly turned freezing and it happened to be that day that I was stood outside Liberty queuing with other designers...for 4 hours. It's over a week later and I've just about thawed out!!
So after meeting the lovely Bryony Sheridan, Home Buyer, I decided to warm myself up with a lovely cuppa at the Cafe Liberty. I certainly deserved it!
It was full - unsurprising as a Saturday in central London always is - but the staff seemed used to the busyness and kept a calm head and smiling face.
They serve Suki Tea in pretty Flowers of Liberty Theodora Liberty Print tea sets (love! £29.95 btw). I went for the Traditional English (well I was in an English shop dating back to 1875, so how much more traditionally English can you get?!) A mixture of Indian Assam and Tanzanian black tea, it is your classic cuppa - and went down a treat, warming me right up!
It's a great spot to rest your tired shopped-out feet. So push through the Oxford Street scrum and hideaway at Liberty's Cafe.
