The Tea Rooms  - Stoke Newington, London

How have I not been here before?!

I used to live near it and it’s lovely. Shame on me for not visiting The Tea Rooms sooner because the staff are so friendly (despite being super busy) and it’s a fab, cosy hideaway from the pram-filled pavements of Stoke Newington Church Street, and full of pretty touches like flower-filled teapots.

Watching London's red buses pass by, I sipped their house blend which is from Mackwoods Labookellie Estate, Sri Lanka. I passed through that estate on a glorious train journey last year so it was a good memory jogger, and a classic heart-warming cuppa too.

Next time I’m not eating before I go so I can enjoy their delicious looking treats. However I was able to while away an hour as I was given an additional pot of ‘top-up’ hot water (I think all tea rooms should do this as sometimes the second brew is better than the first!) so I sat, sipped, and enjoyed the buzzy ambience, the joyful vintage tunes and a tasty tea.
